A little bit tricky match away from home, with a French club. And, considering our current form and situation, one point would be enough for me. I am not very optimistic about this match.

Girondins Bordeaux's form is even worse - they've suffered two consecutive league defeats.

It's definitely not going to be an easy match, but FC Bayern can take the full three points.

I agree. We're the one's in a less worst shape But they're playing at home so it'll definitely be tricky.

Let's hope for the best.

We all know that Juventus didn't deserve a draw at home considering how bad they played. But in 4 months, no one is going to remember that, just the fact that they got 1 point from Germany.

Even if we don't win well, I'd take it.

Robben sidelined, Demichelis set to return, Braafheid doubtful

Quote:
Arjen Robben has been forced to delay his comeback from injury for a short time longer. FCB coach Louis van Gaal had originally held out hopes of selecting his fellow-countryman for last Saturday’s Bundesliga trip to Freiburg, but the winger suffered a reaction to an earlier knee injury, and has now been ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League fixture away to Girondins Bordeaux.

Robben was unable to take part in the squad training session on Monday, reporting to sports rehab coach Thomas Wilhelmi for a 60-minute fitness workout instead. During the squad’s absence in Bordeaux, the Dutch international will remain at the Säbener Strasse and complete a tailored training programme, with the aim of resuming squad duty on Thursday.

Apart from Robben, Van Gaal is also without Franck Ribéry (swollen knee) in Bordeaux. The France superstar is currently out of action for an indefinite period. Edson Braafheid is also rated doubtful for the European clash. However, Martin Demichelis is set to feature in the 18-man matchday squad for the first time since an operation to correct an ankle problem some ten weeks ago.

Well on one side is good not to preasure Robben in that aspect, let him recover 100%. We dont want another Ribery case after all. But then again we will need Schweinsteiger and Müller to really step up and create chances in the match. We them both to be creative.

PLEASE let Braafheid in München, that way we can at last see the Görltz-Lahm full backs in the match. On the other way, if van Gaal chooses Pranjic, we are screwed!

Bordeaux captain started in FCB reserves
Reunion with Diarra

Quote:
“Bordeaux had a great team at the time, with the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Christophe Dugarry and Bixente Lizarazu,” continued Lahm, who would later play alongside Lizarazu for Bayern. “I learned a lot from him,” the full-back acknowledged. The French champions’ superstar these days is Yoann Gourcuff, and the club captain is a certain Alou Diarra.

The Girondins skipper is another player well-known to Lahm, as the pair operated together for the Bayern reserves. Diarra scored five goals in 41 third division appearances for the FCB second string between 2000 and 2002, but missed out on the step up to the senior squad. “At the time, he was competing with Owen Hargreaves for the same position, but Owen got a chance with the first team and took it,” reported Lahm.

Probable starting line-up:

Butt – Lahm, van Buyten, Badstuber, Pranjic – van Bommel – Tymoshchuk, Schweinsteiger – Müller – Toni, Klose
(4-1-2-1-2; predicted by kicker)

Left-back Edson Braafheid was a late withdrawal with a tight hamstring. Danijel Pranjic could take over from the Dutch defender, or Lahm might switch flanks, with Hamit Altintop tipped for a chance to prove himself at right-back.

Van Gaal indicated that, with the exception of Braafheid’s position, he was unlikely to make any further changes to the line-up. That would mean a repeat of the 4-4-2 formation which brought a 2-1 win in Freiburg at the weekend. “I see no reason to change it,” the boss commented. In that case, Toni and Klose would again lead the line, supported by Thomas Müller. “We’re going to Bordeaux on a roll after winning in Freiburg,” said the 20-year-old, “and I think we’ll win there too.”
