What a weak win. No way we'll beat Juventus in this condition.

Reaction to Bayern v Maccabi Haifa
Hoeneß: We needed this morale-boosting win

Quote:
Louis van Gaal: “I’ve watched a very good game. We’ve created plenty of chances, but at the end of the day we’ve scored just the one goal. We could have won by more. We maintained our discipline through to the end. We have a fifty-fifty chance of going through. I think we’ll create chances in Turin. I’d like us to go there and score an early goal.”

Uli Hoeneß: “You can see the players still aren’t as confident as they ought to be. On the one hand, they tried very hard and they made chances, but on the other hand, they again failed to score enough goals. But we needed this boost, and winning has given us just that. We’ve given ourselves another last chance in the Champions League. That’s definitely a confidence-booster.”

Ivica Olic: “That was very important. We’ve won and put a poor run behind us. I think we’re heading in the right direction. I had a serious injury and I’ve been out for seven weeks. I’m thrilled, because it was my first start since then, I’ve scored, and we’ve won. It was a deserved victory. Now I hope we can go on and win all our matches before Christmas.”

Thomas Müller: “We’re delighted about the win, and we’re pleased we’re still in business thanks to Juventus losing. Everyone can see we’re still nervous, which is why it took fighting spirit and passion to grind out a win today. We sensed we were in the driving seat. We always believed we could score. Now we’re back in business.”

Mario Gomez: “I think it’s starting to go well for me. I’ve played the full 90 minutes in the last two matches, and that matters a lot to any player. You can always score right up until the last minute. I had a feeling of being wanted today, and that really helps you perform. But overall we showed plenty of character. We’re still a little hesitant, but I think we made our own luck today.”

My man of the match is Bastian Schweini.

He worked hard and he wanted to win this match good to see him fighting for every ball.

good match.
