Analysis of the final 4 matchdays in the BL:

Quote:
Matchday 14

1899 Hoffenheim v Borussia Dortmund
Werder Bremen v Wolfsburg
FSV Mainz 05 v Hamburger SV
Bor. Mönchengladbach v FC Schalke 04
Bayer Leverkusen v VfB Stuttgart
Hannover 96 v Bayern München
Difficult matches for all our opponents, meanwhile Bayern again provided we win we can cut down points. Bremen have a craking match and Leverkusen on the other hand, should win their match against a out of form VfB.

Quote:
Matchday 15

FC Schalke 04 v Hertha BSC
1. FC Köln v Werder Bremen
Hannover 96 v Bayer Leverkusen
Bayern München v Bor. Mönchengladbach
Hamburger SV v 1899 Hoffenheim
Except for HSV, none of the other leaders should have problems winning their matches. Bayern need to win at home especially this kind of matches.

Quote:
Matchday 16

Hertha BSC v Bayer Leverkusen
Werder Bremen v FC Schalke 04
VfL Bochum v Bayern München
1899 Hoffenheim v Eintracht Frankfurt
1. FC Nürnberg v Hamburger SV
Showdown in Bremen. The rest, practically the same as Matchday 15 with Bayern AGAIN in a MUST win match.

Quote:
Matchday 17

FC Schalke 04 v 1. FSV Mainz 05
Bayern München v Hertha BSC
Bayer Leverkusen v Bor. Mönchengladbach
Eintracht Frankfurt v VfL Wolfsburg
VfB Stuttgart v 1899 Hoffenheim
Hamburger SV v Werder Bremen
If Bayern cant win their last match of the BL this season at home against the worst team on the league, we dont deserve to be in Europe next season.

Rummenigge: "I don't think that we'll be able to overcome Bayer Leverkusen before the winter break. Our target at the moment is to climb to second spot before the new year."

"Leverkusen will still be at the summit of the table come 2010. They deserve to be 'Herbstmeister' after their superb performances in the first half of this season."

"However, we want to sit in a good position to fight for the league title after the winter. Maybe we can decrease our deficit by one or more points in the remaining games."

Analysis of the final matchdays in the BL:

Quote:
Matchday 29
Eintracht Frankfurt v Bayer 04 Leverkusen
FC Schalke 04 v FC Bayern München
This will be the Final of the Bundesliga 2009/2010 for Schalke. If they beat us, they will win the German Championship. With the high-boost in morale they'll get, they will beat anyone left. Why isn't this a final for Bayern? Cause quite frankly I don't trust them anymore this season. We might win against Schalke but then loose the following week at home! So I'm taking it game by game and week by week.

Quote:
Matchday 30
Hannover 96 v FC Schalke 04
Bayer 04 Leverkusen v FC Bayern München
Do I really need to analyse this? Schalke will win this match and we have to prove ourselfs yet once more.

Quote:
Matchday 31
VfB Stuttgart v Bayer 04 Leverkusen
FC Schalke 04 v Borussia M'gladbach
FC Bayern München v Hannover 96
Good chance for bayern also, considering that Hannover is the WORST team on the BL in this second round and that Monchenglädbach has a good team and has improved their performances.

Quote:
Matchday 32
Hertha BSC v FC Schalke 04
Borussia M'gladbach v FC Bayern München
Bayer 04 Leverkusen v Hannover 96
Again, we have a very tricky match and Schalke also. Hertha is bitting every one, and if they could beat Wolfsburg 1-5 at their place, why not Schalke?

Quote:
Matchday 33
Bayer 04 Leverkusen v Hertha BSC
FC Bayern München v VfL Bochum 1848
FC Schalke 04 v Werder Bremen
I'm going to trust in Pizarro on this matchday. Hopefully we can get something out of this one.

Quote:
Matchday 34
Borussia M'gladbach v Bayer 04 Leverkusen
1. FSV Mainz 05 v FC Schalke 04
Hertha BSC v FC Bayern München
If Hertha have chances to save their season, we are in for a VERY difficult match. Schalke has a difficult match also, Mainz is one of the surprises this season.

I feel sorry for Hertha, they still have to play the current top 3. Nonetheless we have to beat Shalke and Neverkusen, otherwise it DOES look like we won't have any control over our chances to win the league after that.

Facts and stats from the 2009-10 season

Quote:
Trainer Louis van Gaal made no secret of his pride after the last match of the season in Berlin, where Bayern ignored the fact of effectively winning the league the previous week, and finished up by setting a string of new Bundesliga benchmarks for the campaign. “It matters to me that we were best in everything. We have the most points, but also the best defence and the best attack,” the coach declared.

Facts and stats from the 2009-10 season

4 - Bayern lost just four league matches this term, two before and two after Christmas – the best record in the Bundesliga.

16 - Arjen Robben’s brace in Berlin took him to 16 league goals this season, and made him Bayern’s top Bundesliga scorer.

20 - The 3-1 victory in Berlin was Bayern’s 20th this season – another league best.

22 - It is Bayern’s 22nd German championship triumph, and the 21st since FCB were promoted to the fledgling Bundesliga in 1965. Nürnberg are second in the all-time ranking with nine triumphs, all prior to the introduction of the Bundesliga.

23 - Bayern have scored at least once in their last 23 league fixtures. However, that is still short of the record series of 31 years ago, which ran to 28 games.

31 - Adrian Ramos’s strike on the hour was only the 31st goal FCB have conceded in the league, giving them the joint-best defence alongside runners-up Schalke.

44 - Bayern collected 44 yellow cards, the lowest number in the Bundesliga.

72 - Saturday’s three goals took FCB to 72 for the season, overtaking Bremen by one goal to win the accolade as most potent attack.

155 - Bastian Schweinsteiger played the ball an amazing 155 times in Berlin. He has regularly topped this stat since switching to central midfield in what is arguably his best season to date.

3060 - Philipp Lahm was truly ever-present this term, starting and finishing all 34 league fixtures for a total of 3060 playing minutes. Holger Badstuber came second to Lahm, who set a new personal best with six assists, on 2926 minutes.

Robben named best Bundesliga player

Quote:
Arjen Robben scored a landslide victory when the Bayern Munich and Netherlands winger was named best player of the past German football season in a survey by Kicker Sports magazine.

Robben received a staggering 71.2 percent of the votes from 241 Bundesliga players in the survey published on Tuesday. League top scorer Edin Dzeko of VfL Wolfsburg was a distant second with 6.7 percent and Munich's Bastian Schweinsteiger third on 5.4 percent.

Manuel Neuer of Schalke 04 was elected best goalkeeper with 30.5 percent, ahead of Bayer Leverkusen's Rene Adler (13.6) and Hans-Joerg Butt of Munich (10 per cent).

Louis van Gaal was the best coach after leading Munich to a domestic league and cup double, and into the Champions League final in his first season at the club.

Van Gaal garnered 34.7 percent to rank ahead of VfB Stuttgart coach Christian Gross (19.7) and Felix Magath of Schalke 04 (17.2).
