Provided that he stays fit, he always delivered goals. Just like Inzaghi and Makaay! They are not flashy and showy players, but they deliver the goods.

I didn't even know this guy still existed. Just another example of what Real Madrid does to players if they don't play well regularly.

Exactly... Remember Saviola and Owen?? Real ruined their futures, glad to see owen fixing his career though. Even if Ribery left Bayern, I hope he just doesnt join Real madrid or Barcelona... I wont be so sad if he went anywhere else as if he joined real madrid... They destroyed many big names...

To be fair, Nistelrooy was a starter until he picked up a serious knee injury which required surgery and a long lay-off period. He only returned to fitness a couple of months ago.

Yet every player dreams of being a Real player right? even if it is for only a season. Crap. Van Nistelrooy should have gone to bayern before Real, but like everyone else is too tempted to go to Real and live the "dream" -- which as many said is more of a nightmare, even look at Van Der Vaart. Hopefully Ribéry is smarter than that.

That was in the past, when Real Madrid had prestige in Europe. The last 6 seasons have proven that anyone can beat Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu and that Real Madrid are just good individuals but 0 team conexcion.

agree with filo: real madrid is all about indivdual talent, not team play, wich makes real madrid games pretty boring to watch imo. you are always waiting on the one moment off brilliance from one player, and that could take the whole game and sometimes not at all. look at barca, its all about team play, Zlatan even got in a lot of trouble for not passing the ball on and going for goal instead, very unlike real.

Real winning anything this season would be a major disapointment to the game.

Van Gaal: Ruud couldn't stand Bayern competition

Quote:
Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal insists he did not enter the race to sign Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy because he did not think the player could stand the competition at his club.

Van Nistelrooy has joined Bayern's Bundesliga rivals Hamburg on a free transfer from Real Madrid, where he was struggling for first-team football.

Van Gaal, who coached Van Nistelrooy when he was in charge of the Holland national team, believes the former Manchester United striker would have had a similar problem in Munich to the one he had in Madrid.

"I would not oblige him, because I just had a similar case with Luca Toni, who I let go (to Roma on loan)," Van Gaal wass quoted as saying in the Bild newspaper.

"Toni could not deal with the competitive situation at Bayern. I think Ruud has the same problem. Otherwise he would have stayed in Madrid.''

Van Nistelrooy, whose Hamburg side face Bayern on February 28, took Van Gaal's comments with a pinch of salt.

"Mr Van Gaal is my friend, (he is) a very likeable guy. (He) just wants to irritate me a bit. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon in Munich.''

The Portuguese press quoted Hamburger Abendblattes' report which said Jerome Boateng will join Man City next season for 12.5m €.

Not surprising

With Labbadia they would have lost against Fulham because the relationship between him and the team was fucked up beyond any possible repair.

How did the relationship between him and the team get so deteriorated? What happened?
