VfB Stuttgart

Stuttgart Star Serdar Tasci Flattered By Arsenal Interest
The young stopper is pleased that the Gunners are interested in him, but he hasn't ruled out staying at VfB...

Quote:
Arsenal target Serdar Tasci has expressed his happiness at English club's reported interest in him, while stressing that he remains happy at Stuttgart.

Recent reports have identified Tasci, who was also being chased by AC Milan and Juventus, as one of Arsene Wenger's main targets.

Speaking to German website Spox.com, Tasci said, "I have to admit I'm flattered that clubs like Arsenal, AC Milan and Juventus have had their eye on me in the past.

"But I'm not getting carried away with this. I'm focused on Stuttgart and looking to return to action following my knee injury. I have the ambition to move clubs one day, but the time and circumstances have to be right for me."

Tasci then talked about his excitement at playing in the Champions League next season, even contemplating a clash with Arsenal themselves.

"I'd love to play in the Champions League this season," he said.

"We'll have to show up in qualifying of course, but I don't mind who we play. We want to advance to the group stages.

"We might be paired with Arsenal, but we can beat them as well."

Stuttgart are keen to hold on to the player, but they are afraid of losing him for nothing when his contract expires next summer, so they could be tempted by a large bid if Tasci does not sign a contract extension.

I hope he stays at Stuttgart. I hate it when our players leave for other leagues... especially the EPL.

Stuttgart keen on jovanovic

Quote:
Stuttgart are hoping to strike a deal to sign Serbia striker Milan Jovanovic from Belgian champions Standard Liege.

Stuttgart general manager Horst Heldt admits Jovanovic is being targeted to replace Mario Gomez, who has moved to Bayern Munich.

"The fact is Jovanovic interests us a lot," Heldt told the Stuttgarter Zeitung newspaper.

The 28-year-old could cost around five million euros, leaving plenty of funds from the reported 30million euro sale of Gomez to invest in a further striker.

Hoffenheim's Demba Ba is tipped to be on his way to Stuttgart even though he has been told by his club he will not be going anywhere.

Heldt remains optimistic a solution can be found.

"All I can say is that we have a very friendly relationship with our neighbours from Hoffenheim and we place a lot of importance on this," he said.

"At the end of the day, there are a lot of people there who have a lot in common with us in that they were with VfB (Stuttgart) in the past."

Ba recently admitted he was seeking a new challenge away from Hoffenheim.

Stuttgart have given up on trying to sign striker Milan Jovanovic from Standard Liege.

They are now believed to be chasing the signature of Brazil striker Vagner Love.

I would be delighted if Vagner Love comes to the Bundesliga.

Hmmm.. According to Spanish media, Stuttgart and Real Madrid have reached an agreement over the transfer of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Madrid have reportedly accepted the 20 million euros offer for the striker. Stuttgart's spokesman has refused to comment the reports.

Yeah, 20m € says Marca. Great signing if it's true, he'll fit right in and it's another relatively big name joining the Bundesliga.

What a good buy it would be for Stuttgart.

They'd get a relatively good striker to try and cover up the hole left after Gomez's departure.

Real Madrid have confirmed that they are in advanced negotiations over the sale of Klaas-Jan Huntelaar after accepting an approach from Stuttgart.

Stuttgart have money from the Gomez transfer to Bayern (30 Million), Milan offerd 14 m but Real didn't accept i think Stuttgart have offered 20 million and for Real it's great to sell a player not to a European giant.

Would be a perfect signing for the VfB and for the Bundesliga too.

Hmmm... According to "AS", Huntelaar has rejected Stuttgart's contract because he is not considering a salary cut. Stuttgart have only offered him a €2m-a-year salary, which represents half of what he is currently earning at Real Madrid.
