Hahahaha cocky bastards.

Portugal won 5-4 on penalties. Spain's captain missed their last penalty.

Deserved victory.

U19 Euro started on Monday. Germany dominated their opening match versus Italy, but still went down to a penalty in the second half.

It seems the search for a new striker for the national team is still ongoing.

The squad features no Bayern players, unfortunately. Will watch if they reach the semi finals. They seem to be one of the favourties for the cup.

when was the last time a Bayern player played for NT in first XI? Can't remember anybody except Nikolas Dorsch...

True. We don't seem to have appropriate representation at all.

Why do you think that is though? I find it quite baffling. It would be nice to have some players from our academy impressing in these tournaments but there's barely ever anyone on show.

It would seem like we just don't have top talents in our youth teams ATM. Let's face it.. people keep complaining that we haven't introduced anyone to the first team, but it seems more likely that there's just no one to promote and the uXY NT teams seem to confirm that.

IMO , as long as our reserves (FCB II) keep playing in the 4th division , there is no chance our young players will get called to their NTs or play with the senior team

Bayern are one of top 3 teams in the world atm , and not any player can make it with the first team
And our good young players won't be interested to play in the 4th division , and will transfer to other 2nd division teams for example as first step

That's why I already said we should make a deal with a club where we can loan our young players to develop and gain some playing time (just like the Chelsea-Vitesse deal) , a club like Hoffenheim or Augsburg let's say or even a 2nd BL team would be also good
Players like Benko, Dorsch & Co. get loaned to such team and play for 2-3 seasons let's say and then we can see if they deserve to be brought to our 1st team

anyway , I took a look on the squads , and I only know 2 players: Augustin (PSG, playing with France) and Oxford (West Ham, playing with England)
I have no idea about all the other players

BVB's and Schalke 04 2nd teams are not in the 3. Liga and they still get players called up to NT. Let's be real, our Under 17's~19's are not very good quality wise, nothing to do with our 2nd Team. Our youth system is simply not producing.

Wow, Germany is utter wank.

Can't even draw at home. No U20 World Cup next year either. Sigh. Fucking disappointment.

Edit: I overreacted. If we beat Austria to finish third in the group we have an opportunity to win a place in the World Cup via a play-off match versus the third placed team in the other group.

Still, probably going to fuck it up against Austria based on what I've seen.

Just to add... How fucking depressing is it that a team this shit is too good for any of our youth players? They must be horrible.

I really hope this doesn't have an adverse effect going forward. We can't have a consistently good national team with shit youth teams.

Italy beat England 2-1.
France beat Portugal 3-1.

France vs. Italy final. Let's see if they are gonna fuck it up again despite being favourites.

Germany beat Netherlands on penalties to claim 5th place and thus the last remaining European spot for the 2017 U20 World Cup.

Yay, I guess.

France won 4-0. Absolutely crushed Italy. It was one way traffic.

These lads will take some beating next year at the U20 World Cup.

England beat Turkey and Spain beat Germany on penalties to progress to the final of the U17 Euro. All four teams along with France qualified for the U17 World Cup taking place later this year.

If anyone was confused by the penalty taking order, it is a new system being trialed by UEFA which I write more on in the Women's Football thread.
