Ribery has no problem with money. He earns a lot as we speak, and of course he knows Bayern will offer him a very good contract (financially speaking) the same way they did with Ballack. The KEY difference here is that Bayern have created a very promising group of young talents that have a very bright sporting future and present, something Ribery will definetly want to take in consideration.
We once were the Real Madrid of Germany, buying off every talented player of the BL we can and then sending them back with 0 morale and 0 improvement. Now, we are the Barcelona of Germany (we still can improve much more), playing well and using our own youth system as a provider of talented players. We will eventually buy players from other clubs, yeah, but the difference is that now we will buy 1 or 2 EXCELLENT and quality players and not all the players we see. Money? The only man that is worried about money is Ribery's agent. And that is a fact. |

Funny how DvB, Badstuber and Müller all got contract extensions recently but Ribéry's contract talks have to wait until March, even though Nerlinger said everyone's will wait. Curious as to why Bayern are dragging this thing out. I would rather find out sooner than later, but maybe that's the thing - Bayern want concentration by Ribéry now and waiting to see how much he contributes before deciding anything.

Well its different in the case of Ribery. Bayern need to come up with a good proposal so that Ribery can decide properly. You cant handle the extension of two Bayern youth products the same way you handle a extension of Bayern's best offensive player.

I don't see why, because its not like Bayern haven't given any thought to it since last Summer, we should already have a good proposal in mind -- something that will be so attractive that he will stick around another 2-3 years. I know Hoeness mentioned something to that effect. To me it is just dragging it out and giving him time to get back to form after injury. But I am sure there will be a ton of clauses and crap in the contract that need to be sorted out because it is Ribéry -- which I am sure his agent is angling things to get alot of money and make it where Ribéry leaves in 1 season after extending, so he can get more money.

Sky Sports | Football | Bundesliga | News | Ribery unsure of Bayern stay
"Bayern is still a big club. It's one of the biggest in the world but I find that our team is not as strong as other teams, like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea," Ribery told RTL radio. "Maybe we will have trouble competing against these teams." guess FCB has to do well in CL to keep him |
