i have always defended Michael Rensing and i will remain defending him
honestly yea he made a lot of mistakes this season but !!!
dont u think it is a little too early to judge him ppl
i mean jurg butt isnt even better than him he is 34 years old and he still make mistakes
trust me the problem isnt butt or rensing or neuer the problem is the defence of bayern munchen itself
he even didnt play a whole season to judge him how could we even jugde him too early
neuer reached this fantastic performance because he is playing for three years
let rensing play three full years and i swear he will be better than neuer adler and tim wiese
trust me if bayern was a good team this season and rensing was playing he would do a lot of efforts and may have a chance to the world cup but this season i dont think he could be mannschaft goal keeper may be euro 2012
anyway all wat rensing deserve is more chances and he will be the best

Yea i dont mind rensing too. He had a good record in the champions league actually. Considering the bundesliga, our defence was in shambles, and klinsmann too lacked tactics for implementation of good defensive discipline. Its something he lacked even in the WC06. Moreover rensing was also under a lot of pressure considering the fact that he was taking the gloves from 'the titan'

However rensing dug his own grave over those alleged comments he passed after the Barca game. A new GK or not, this issue wont concern me much as the RB one.

Rensing: "I'm really happy. I've waited a long time for a match like that. I believe in myself and I know what I can do: I am a very good goalkeeper. I didn't fail at FC Bayern, I was simply demoted to the bench by Klinsmann, unjustifiedly though! I said I will only leave FC Bayern if a goalkeeper comes who's better than me - and I'm still here!"

I had high expectations until he appointed the shitty Vasquez as his assistant. No good ever came of having a Mexican un-experienced assistant coach. He had no CLUE what so ever how Bayern worked, besides the fact that he didn't spoke German.. and oh yes, he did had one better thing than Klinsi, he jumped higher than Klinsmann whenever Bayern scored a goal.

Sepp Maier: "Leave the poor Rensing alone! Every field player make 10 mistakes in a match, you can't always blame the goalkeeper."

"Rensing is a very good goalkeeper, but his nerves are frayed."

Who's to blame? Klinsmann. "He started all this. If he had not demoted him, this never would have happened."

Maier thinks Neuer would be a "waste of money" and recommends "Adler, in case it doesn't go well with Rensing."

Well Maier has the same views as everyone else here. I just wish Rensing luck being the #1 again.

I wish Rensing luck.

I hope he turns out to be a worthy goalkeeper for Bayern. It's up to him.

KAHN BACKING FOR RENSING

Quote:
Former Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper Oliver Kahn feels Bayern coach Louis van Gaal has made the right choice in naming Michael Rensing as his number one for the season.

The 25-year-old was in goal for the Bavarian giants in their 3-1 win over Neckarelz in the DFB-Pokal at the weekend to earn Van Gaal's nod ahead of Hans-Jorg Butt as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Kahn, who wore the number one jersey at Bayern for almost 15 years before retiring last summer, remains convinced that Rensing is his worthy successor.

"It is not much of a surprise," he said.

"I have nothing against Butt, who has done a good job, but when you look at the overall potential, then Michael is younger.

"You have also got to give him the chance to make mistakes without discussing every goal he concedes.

"He has got to be allowed to develop."

Rensing was made number one by Van Gaal's predecessor Jurgen Klinsmann last season but he was unexpectedly dropped hours before their Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona.

Although Kahn admits Rensing was not playing at a world-class standard over the course of the season, he believes Klinsmann was wrong in making him the scapegoat for his side's failings.

"That is extremely damaging for a player's development," Kahn told Munich's Tz newspaper.

"You have got to be particularly careful with young players.

"In my eyes, Michael was not so bad last season anyway. He was average, but I cannot remember any glaring errors.

"I think it was totally exaggerated to pin the blame on him."

Kahn believes Bayern were over-reacting by trying to sign Manuel Neuer from Schalke this summer.

He said: "I'm sorry but what kind of a season did Manuel have two years ago?

"Of course he is at a very good level now, but I cannot recall Rensing making anywhere near as many errors as Neuer did when he was going through a rough patch.

"But Schalke stood by him 100%.

"Look at what Real Madrid did with (Iker) Casillas. He cost them plenty of games in the beginning, but they stood by him and now look - he is European champion."

I was happy with Rensing's performance yesterday. No crazy moments or serious mistakes that made me want to kill him or myself lol.
