Robben out of training

Quote:
Moment of shock during the training of FC Bayern in Dubai: winger Arjen Robben had to cancel practice session, on Friday afternoon because of severe pain in his right foot. The 25-year-old foot was on ice and bandage and later on he was with team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt so that an accurate diagnosis can be said.

Can't this guy just stay fit?! My God anything that touches him can break him. Let's wait and see what happens... at least it wasn't his knee this time. A proper diagnosis will be stated on Saturday.

All-clear for Robben

Quote:
Arjen Robben is steadily returning to fitness. As other hotel guests relaxed in and around the pool, the Dutchman was undertaking a thorough session of ‘aqua jogging’ – one of two pieces of good news from the penultimate day of Bayern’s training camp in Dubai. Robben, who had gone over on his right foot in training the previous evening, had not done himself any serious injury.

Following a magnetic resonance imaging scan on Saturday morning, club doctor Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt was finally able to give the winger the all-clear. Robben has merely suffered a strain to his right ankle and will now spend four days following an individual training programme. He could take part in the warm-up game in Basel on Tuesday and his availability for the match with Hoffenheim that kicks off the second half of the season is not under threat.

Hoeness: Robben's future is at Bayern

Quote:
Hoeness believes that after his difficult time at Chelsea and Real Madrid, Robben will appreciate the excellent climate at FCB.

"I have a feeling that Arjen will extend his four-year contract and will remain with us," said Hoeness.

I followed Arjen throughout Chelski and R.M. and even though I call him names, half jokingly, I would really like to see him extend with us.

I disagree with the whole 'selfish' thing. I see him pass plenty when players are open and sometimes not so open. Maybe he should start tracking back a bit sometimes instead of running into 3 or 4 players BUT I would say he's selfish that much. He can score goals, more so that Gomez, Mueller, Olic or Klose. The guy is fast. A lot faster than most and perhaps that is also a problem when he has the ball up front... and no support sometimes. If you have the shot, take it, if no one is supporting you, also take the shot.
Even the announcers where commenting on Robben and what a 'complete' athlete this guy is.

Agreed, he maybe ambitious with the ball, but he's a class player and a threat to every team all around.

No doubt that the guy has skill.

But as games go on, we have to "put the last nail in the coffin" to wrap things up. I saw at least 2 counter-attacks where we could have given a pass to someone free but didn't, instead, charged towards 2 Viola players.

That kind of attitude hasn't bitten us in the ass... yet. The day it does, it's going to suck badly (for not having wrapped up an important game). Mark my words.

Well Rene, when that day comes Im pretty sure it wont be Robbens fault due to the fact that when things like that happens, there are other things that will lead up to that situation. Other than GK mishaps its rarely 1 persons fault for losing a match.

Prolific Robben on course for personal best

Quote:
12 - 5 - 7 - 6 - 2 - 4 - 7. Not a telephone number or the lottery draw, but the number of goals scored by Arjen Robben in the last seven seasons: 12 and 5 with PSV Eindhoven, 7, 6 and 2 with Chelsea, and 4 and 7 with Real Madrid. Now with Bayern, the Dutch ace is well on the way to beating his personal best of a dozen goals in a season.

In 17 Bundesliga appearances to date, the man brought in at the end of last summer’s transfer window now has 16 scorer points. “It was a truly important transfer. When we succeeded in bringing him in, we hit the bull’s eye,” said Rummenigge. Robben has his ten goals and six assists in the league, two Champions League goals and one in the DFB Cup, making him the second-top scorer at the club after Mario Gomez.

Robben doubtful for United match

Quote:
Bayern Munich fear that Arjen Robben might not be ready for the Champions League quarter-finals first leg against Manchester United.

The Dutch winger suffered a slight strain of a calf muscle against VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.

"It's not a harsh injury, but it will be difficult to have him ready for the match against Manchester United," said Bayern coach Louis van Gaal.
