Leverkusen want to keep Kroos

"Toni Kroos would like to stay with us and we would keep him happy", said Bayer's director, Wolfgang Holzhäuser.

"Either we take him on loan for another year or we will make an offer to FC Bayern for him," revealed Holzhäuser.
Christian Nerlinger says no way!

"It does not matter what Leverkusen offers. Selling Kroos is not even an issue! He is coming back!"

If there's no place for him in the starting 11 he should be loaned for one more year,we shouldn't waste his talent.

Rummenigge: We are planning for next season with Robben, Ribery and Kroos

BILD: Mr. Rummenigge, Leverkusen still hope to keep Toni Kroos. Do they have a chance?
Rummenigge: "No, the case is closed. I met last Thursday with Toni Kroos and his agent, Volker Struth. Toni will return to Bayern."

BILD: Even though Leverkusen are ready to pay a 8 million euros transfer fee?
Rummenigge: "(Smiles). I asked Wolfgang Holzhäuser if they don't want to buy Ribéry for 4 million euros while they're at it..."

BILD: Will he warm the bench at Bayern?
Rummenigge: "I've told Toni that he doesn't have to worry about not playing, if he plays like in Leverkusen."

BILD: What does Van Gaal think?
Rummenigge: "Van Gaal has watched him closely in recent weeks and has a high opinion of him."

Rummenigge: "We are planning for next season with Robben, Ribery and Kroos. I remain very optimistic that Ribery remains. "

Thats settled then. We will play with a 4-2-3-1 with our midfield being something like this:

--------Schweinsteiger--------van Bommel--------

---Robben----------Kroos-----------Ribéry--------

------------------------Gomez--------------------

Having Olic, Pranjic and Müller as replacements for Ribery/Robben/Kroos in the wings, Klose as a back-up for Gomez and Ottl/Tymo for Bommel and Schweinsteiger.

What position will Toni Kroos play once he returns to FC Bayern?

Van Gaal: I don't think Toni Kroos should play in Ribéry's position. But first I will have a chat with Toni Kroos once the new season starts. When the current campaign started I said that Ribéry would be my playmaker, but he doesn't like that position so much, so we dropped that idea. Concerning Kroos, that's all in the future.

Kroos: the missing part of Bayern's offensive puzzle
by Filo on March 23, 2010

Quote:
At the beginning of this season, Louis van Gaal wanted to play Franck Ribery on the playmaker position, thus giving Bayern Munich a new way of attack, that they currently lack. Comparing two teams is not my preference in an argument, but I must say that this Bayern that van Gaal is trying to create is very similar to that incredible Barcelona of today.

Barcelona has the clear advantage though, because their attack is always unexpected and their game play is unpredicted. The difference between both clubs (offensively speaking) is that Barca’s game relies on the vision of two playmakers in Xavi and Iniesta. Having said that, the only problem that I see in Bayern’s offensive power is the lack of a playmaker that can dictate the game such as Xavi and Iniesta do for Barcelona. Bayern’s “Xavi” has a name: Bastian Schweinsteiger. And for the surprise of many, Bayern’s “Iniesta” is currently on a loan at the BayArena. (...)

Nerlinger: "They can offer €25M, but Kroos is coming back!"

Christian Nerlinger ruled out a meeting regarding the future of Toni Kroos with Bayer Leverkusen bosses before the match on Saturday.

"There will be no more meetings, everything has been said. They can offer 20 million euros, or even 25 - but Toni is coming back."

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: "The decision has been made - and it is definite. There will be no more talks."

Without any new transfers...

Robben - Kroos - Ribery

Olic/Gomez

That could be a handful for opposing clubs!

Return confirmed
Kroos to rejoin Bayern after loan spell

Quote:
After Saturday’s 1-1 draw between Leverkusen and Bayern, Toni Kroos claimed the prize of Arjen Robben’s shirt. As of 1 July, the 20-year-old Kroos will again have his own FCB jersey. “It was clear to us internally the whole time,” Bayern director of sport Christian Nerlinger commented, following official confirmation that Kroos will end his eighteen-month loan spell with Leverkusen and return to Munich.

“It’s settled. It was always only a loan. Leverkusen have benefited, Toni Kroos has benefited, and so have Bayern Munich,” Nerlinger said on Saturday after the Bundesliga meeting between the clubs. “We always knew he’d go back if that’s what Bayern wanted. That’s why you have contracts,” observed Bayer managing director Wolfgang Holzhäuser.

Louis van Gaal is well aware of the Germany international’s quality. Compared to Saturday’s Leverkusen line-up, the Bayern boss said Kroos “won’t be playing on the left side of the field. I think he can fill a playmaking role – and that’s why I want him back at Bayern.” The coach is due to meet the player shortly to outline his future prospects at FCB.

“I think Bayern can offer me a good future, otherwise they wouldn’t bother bringing me back,” commented Kroos, who feels he has “a good chance” of regular football in Munich. “I enjoyed playing against Bayern, but I’d also enjoy playing with them.”

Kroos: "I want regular first team action at Bayern"

Quote:
Young attacking midfielder Toni Kroos will return to Bayern Munich at the end of the season after an 18-month loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen and the German international has stated that he wants regular first team action at FC Hollywood.

"The most important thing for me is that I get regular first team action. I'm 20 years old and have been an important first team member at Bayer Leverkusen this term," said Kroos to Bild.

"My career is on the right track at the moment and I can't let it happen that my progress stagnates. I have to continue to develop like this.

"I know that Bayern coach Louis van Gaal can help young players develop. I'm really curious to know what his plans are with me. I can only hope that he has faith in me.

"I'm not afraid that I return to Munich to warm the bench. I've a lot more experience now than before and I have shown this season what I'm capable of. I can score goals and be dangerous with my passes."

Kroos travelled to Munich on Monday for a conversation with Van Gaal about his future at the Bavarian powerhouse. The Dutch coach recently revealed that he's considering using Kroos as the club's new number 10 next season.
