Eyal Golasa

Bayern keen on Maccabi Haifa starlet Eyal Golasa

Quote:
Bayern Munich are closely monitoring the movements of highly rated Maccabi Haifa youngster Eyal Golasa, According to a report in German newspaper Bild.

The 18-year-old midfielder impressed scouts of the Bavarian powerhouse with a number of outstanding performances during Haifa's Champions League campaign and Bayern are reportedly keen to add Golasa to their squad in the summer of 2010.

The promising youngster's current Maccabi Haifa deal is due to expire next year, meaning that he could leave the Israeli powerhouse on a Bosman move if no new deal is agreed.

However, the report suggests that Bayern Munich are facing stiff competition in the race for Golasa's signature. Borussia Dortmund, Hoffenheim and Bayer Leverkusen are keeping tabs on the midfielder, too.

Usually Bayern get players that do well against us...

Roy Makaay, Jan Schlaudraff, Vahid Hashemian, Tymoschuk... we all know out of all of the players (and more), the ONLY one that has proven to be Bayern-quality so far.

Sounds promissing enough. Buy him and let him stay in Maccabi until the end of the season on loan at least.

According to 'TZ' Eyal Golasa has traveled on Friday to München and will stay until Sunday.

Quote:
Golasa will probably stay until Sunday in Munich. Whether he will sign a contract in the Winter for Bayern München, it's still unclear - but it is very possible that he will sign a pre-contract that ties him to Bayern from this Summer. There have been several rumors also that both presidents (Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Yaakov Shachar) have been talking about the transfer.

A bit late but still worth:

Eyal Golasa signed a contract with SS Lazio since this winter break.

Quote:
On January 31, 2010, the final day of the winter transfer window, Italian Serie A club Lazio claimed to have signed Golasa on a permanent contract. The player had flown to Rome to undergo a medical and sign the paperwork which would enable him to move to Italy on a free transfer. Maccabi Haifa claimed that he was still contracted to them for a further three years and disputed Lazio's ownership of the player. Yet Golasa's contract with Maccabi was only a youth contract, and thus he was free to sign for Lazio with the Israeli side receiving merely a small compensation fee. He was able to sign for Lazio as an EU footballer, courtesy of his possession of a Belgian passport.

A big concern however is the famous racial attitude that Lazio fans are commonly known by. In fact, in Israel these were the comments made by the signing of Golasa to the Italian capital:

Quote:
Eyebrows were also raised in Israel because of Lazio’s fascist fans and historical political associations. Maariv’s sports editor Avi Ratzon wrote: “Mussolini must be turning in his grave at the thought of an Israeli wearing a Lazio shirt.”

Golasa is the second re-inforcement of Lazio, after German international Thomas Hitzelberger from VfB Stuttgart.

Lazio, like so many other clubs, love to go after our rumoured players. Many times the media and clubs will just add Bayern as a rumoured target just to get others interested. Nonetheless, too bad we didn't get this talented youngster, we wouldn't be as racist as Lazio fans and he would be good to have in midfield.

I agree with Ramy 100%. Besides, we don't need Golasa anyway.
