I wonder if we could actually get a result if we played like yesterday.

Yet Union Berlin are no pushovers -- look at pre-season friendlies, and they had a couple of surprises against top teams. Anyway, Bayern better take this seriously even as a friendly -- maybe we can really use this to know who is actually playing where.

We'll probably win 10-0 again and then loose at the match that really matters

Ribéry will not travel to Berlin. He will stay in Munich.

Actually there is a huge need for it. We apparently lack form, communication and a consistent lineup -- so this will help determine some things and get some players re-focused ahead of Wolfsburg.

Agreed, any non-regular season matches we can play the better to help with the poor form as of late!

Whats the point? We play excellent football in friendlies, we all have seen it. In official mathces we suck! Its a matter of changing the players mentality and make them feel the importance of the BL matches. Make them understand that the Bundesliga has started ALREADY!!!

Playing a friendly during the mid-week and recovering for the weekend bundesliga game will help us get focused and ready for the CL when we have to play in mid-week anyway. I also want our best starting 11 so they can use this game to work together better even if it is a friendly. Bayern seriously needs to work out a formation and get players like Schweini and Lahm more motivated and using their new captain roles -- so this friendly is the perfect place to try those things out. Then give some bench warmers a chance to show something. I know if I were the coach I would be telling the team that I am using this game to see who is ready for the Wolfsburg game, and those who put in the desire and show good form will play this weekend. Its best not to treat this last friendly as some blow off reserve player game, especially the way we have been playing.
