I agree. Coman bought me from the beginnig of this season he has been delivering whenever he played. Especially now with the last two games he was really good, smart, running a lot, bringing a lot of energy and danger for us down the flank.

Ribery is a legend but not a starting material anymore. He has to be our super-sub and thats it. He does not have energy for more than 30 min on a high level.

looking at rudy's performance from last night, this guy should be getting a lots of minutes on the field. as of now, vidal and thiago are the undisputed starters and after them comes rudy.

as for ribery, ribery should be benched 90% of the games. robben on the other hand, at his best he's a level or two above every other player in our team, even at his current age.

year after year, robben keeps reminding us how unique and elite he truly is. always our best and most dangerous player whenever we face the strongest teams. last year, him and vidal were level above anyone else. the year before, he destoryed juventus single-handedly before suffering season-ending injury, and as a result, our attack never looked the same afterwards.

if he's fit and ready, robben should always start in the big games.

    Fan relation problem solved.

its so frustrating having so many agree on the main starting 11 and formation that best fits our current talent and still seeing the players and their abilities mismanaged by the current manager.

Perhaps RBL could be a place for such social experiments.

This. Nothing else. Because it is the best.

But we'll have some Tolisso, Vidal, Thiago midfield and some Ribéry, Lewandowski, Müller attack.

    Amazing ...

The fact I didn't see this formation being deployed in the last friendlies was the main reason of my being upset about said matches.

Robben if healthy and performing well can start ahead of Muller or James (depending on their forms)
Roosoo will agree with me, I fundamentally don't understand why anyone would want to see another formation than this one. There is still a healthy amount of wiggle room too, like swapping Muller/James for Robben, or swapping Tolisso/Vidal for Martinez. There's no question, this formation fits our strengths the best.

With Robben and Ribery's injury proneness we seem awfully short up front for a 4-2-3-1. Essentially 6 players for the 4 attacking positions, we need definitely need another winger as well in my opinion.

Carlo also added today that Martinez will play in defense and only in midfield in emergency situations. This means that our attackers will have to do a lot of defensive work, don't see that working with the guys we have.

So likely we'll line up like:

    Neuer/Ulreich
    Kimmich/Rafinha - Boateng/Martinez - Hummels/Sule - Alaba/Bernat
    Vidal/Tolisso/Sanches - Thiago/Rudy/Sanches
    Robben/Mueller - James/Mueller - Ribery/Coman
    Lewandowski/Mueller

Yeah if we really are going to rely heavily on wingers in a 4-2-3-1 then it would have been nice to get another winger, even better one that can back up ST. Not that James isn't a great transfer in general. Apparently we are not though. Alas sometimes things don't work out and it is frustrating often.

Though I don't think any of this transfer anxiety would be as bad if it weren't for all of the frustration/falling short from the last several years finally coming to a head. Pressure is escalated.

I'm kind of surprised Carlo spelled out so early he plans to use 2 CMs. I'd still have to think we'll see some experimentation with that otherwise. I suppose Muller or James could be used to fill in on the RW as to not always rely on Robben. Coman has played the right before as well. Should be interesting. At very least I hope if we're going to use a 4-2-3-1 we'll see James in the hole a lot. Def want to see him working magic with Muller and Lewy somehow too. Those 3 playing off of and creating for each other.
