What a treat to watch Thiago not playing in defensive department of midfield. Honestly we have so many superb midfield options its unbelievable.
I think since we dont have any good wingers ATM and there are none world class wingers out there(at least for what we can afford) most logical formation is 3-5-1-1. We would need a really great defensive midfielder and to play Coman/Alaba + Kimmich/Fonzie as wingbacks interchangeably. A 3-5-1-1 would mean 3 defenders, 2 wingbacks, Lewandowski and a DMF. Which translates into having 3 slots for Thiago, James/Fekir, Tolisso, Goretzka, Sanchez. These players really can be relieved of defensive duties for the most part since there is a back 3 and a DMF going on.

Left foot, right foot, I do not understand why suddenly everyone is making fuss of some Bild photo - club has 29 players divided into two teams and you can call them "team one" and "team two" and assign different tasks to them. Bavarian football works did some speculation here about assigning roles: http://www.bavarianfootballworks.com...eague-analysis
