    Bayern are very provincial sometimes.
That's what you get for having dinosaurs in charge

Forgive me for saying this, I think it is not just Bayern, many people working in German football at large have similar provincial mindset. Too obsessed with German this and German that.

Is it a requirement in Spain/Italy/France?

Agreed, Germans seems kinda conservative when it comes to football. Conservative can be very fine in certain ways, but it can also be a hinder for progress.

I don't think so, after all you have the likes of Tuchel managing PSG, Mourinho managing Inter and Ranieri/Koeman/Gary Neville managing Valencia etc.

No. But then you can risk coming into Luxemburgo or Felipão situations where they can't really communicate with their players.

Asking someone to learn German or know a basic amount for instruction isn't a huge ask for the pay or expertise. Part of the BL's appeal is(was) it's provincial nature. Die neuen Fans

                    Pep or nothing. gaddammit.

Wenger would be pretty good for the interim. Bonus is he speaks German pretty fluently and we have young french talent that he can work with.

The issue is not asking somebody to learn German for the job, the issue is that the board seem to see it as imperative that the incoming coach should already speak fluent German and have the "German mentality"

Exactly. This level of criteria is just one aspect our board limits the potential of our club
