It's an utterly stupid decision if true. Boateng is a world-cup winning CB who on his day was arguably the best CB in the world. Any club in the world would KILL to have a back-up of his pedigree.

Don't get me wrong, I was as upset with him as everyone was (and would have much rather kept Hummels), but there is simply no replacing Boateng right now, not at this point in the window and not given our current squad planning.
