        • Left Bilbao and will return with two trebles. What a lad.

            • One of the most influential transfers in our modern history.

The release clause at that time for us was almost impossible. However, his transfer has a great symbolic value due to the fact that after many years of mediocrity in Europe and especially many years of buying cheap Bundesliga players, we finally went for the quality no matter how expensive. Jupp wanted Javi Martinez as the final piece of his jigsaw and he got him.

The rest is history. He is one the most successful Spanish internationals not playing for Barca or Real. He won everything.

Its interesting. His biggest contribution, his best season for us is his first season.

                • You could probably say he has an argument for most successful Spaniard outside of Spain.

Except he's not a Spaniard at all

In that sense Podolski wasn't German either. But I get your point.

That’s like saying people from Bayern are not German, of course they are. Javi is as well of course a Spaniard.

                        • Bixente and him two of the best and most successful Basque players of all time. Both won the EC, WC and Champions League.

He is 100% Spanish in nationality and plays for the Spanish NT. You know what I mean!
