You jinxed us L4nd3r, although Kimmich has taken to the role brilliantly so it isn't the end of the world

    • Came back from the tomb to say that Kimmich was by far our most impressive player yesterday. Consistency and reliability all over the pitch. Made just two, maybe three mistakes.

      • I think people are over-hyping him. He is technically, skill wise, vision wise, dribbling wise far off Veratti.

I think he has done well this season thought I don't think he is good enough to start in a match against Barca or Madrid. He has shown talent. Let him play & let him grow.

Playing CB, RB is actually not a bad thing for a young player, it makes his game more rounded & gives him top quality playing time. He has got a great mentor in Alonso.

In theory I agree with your point, however since the winter break he (along with Neuer and Lewandowski) would be one of the first people I would trust against Barca and Madrid. He has been one of the most consistent and level headed performers we've had this year. Maybe he'll tail off or someone else will find a hot streak but as it stands, based on current form, he is one of our best players.

Okay, agree to disagree - I have not seen anything to show he can dominate, carve open or play a tactical master-class in mid-field.

I thinking this over-hyping of every player has to stop - Generally more than of the the talents don't make it & Kimmich is technically not an elite level talent.

But he is only 21 & it worries me. When has a 21 year old CM, DM started for big clubs - very rare. CM's mature at around 24-25 odd, maybe nowadays with so many games early, they will mature early, but 21 I dunno

              Kroos.

Also, no one is saying Kimmich is world class... Just that he's being surprisingly good for his young age. We have a real gem of a player in our club hands.

Kroos really came into his own under Jupp's 1st season @ Bayern in the 2nd part, 11-12 season. He was 22 odd then. Yes he was good at Leverkusen but in 2012 he showed he was Bayern quality.

I still don't think Kroos is World Class, people like Kroos & Kimmich are rare. But Kroos would struggle to start if we had a fit Thiago playing every match.

Kimmich was 20 1 week back, just turned 21. I think it will take him 1 year or 2 to be a starter for Bayern against big matches. You need experience & to avoid putting excess pressure on young guys

                  • I know what you're trying to say, but my point a few posts back was that, based on current form and injuries, Joshua would be one of the first names on the team sheet for me. Say if we had to play Barca tomorrow with our current available players him, Neuer and Lewy would be the first 3 names I'd pick.

That doesn't mean I'm saying he's already world class or that he's better than Vidal, Müller, Thiago or anyone else. But the way he has been playing this season (especially since the winter break) has been VERY mature regardless of which position he's been in. Hell, if I remember correctly he even got played as a striker at one point and he was fantastic.

                        • he did a blunder and we conceded the first goal , but I liked his contribution and his long passes

and he isn't a CB by the way

                            • great talent.
he's 21 playing a big game in CL out of position and yet he was calm and did what is expected of him.

                              he'll be a great CM/CDM.

This - So proud of the kid. He has time, in 2-3 years he will be ready to start in important matches in a mid-field.
