    • Cool, sell them to the same team so they can stay together.

      • Given his physique and goal scoring abilities in terms of finishing along with strong attributes of shooting, heading, dribbling - he might be the successor of Lewandowski

It has nothing to do with Lewy. Since his debut at young ages in Bochum, he was described as the next Ballack - a box to box midfielder with good physique, strong goal scoring ability, heading ability... Everything else in his skill sets is just.. normal. At this rate if he doesn't show some big improvements in the future, the chance that he'll be remembered as 'the discount Ballack' forever is big. I'm a big fan of players that have similar style playing like Ballack, Goretzka, Lampard... etc. But it's sad to speak the truth.

              • and the sad thing is some german players like Goretzka and Kimmich have special place in german media even at Bayern. They are always rated higher are getting better ratings etc. Kimmich managed to somehow make himself a midfielder and is even getting better ratings than Thiago and even some german "experts" are saying that Thiago is playing good because of Kimmich. The reality is he is just meh as midfielder and will never be anywhere close as he was as RB. The same as Goretzka he is pushed by the media even though ghosts most of the game and yet he had the courage to question the coach decision about him not playing, while Thiago had many games not starting and didnt say anything.

Somehow these days bild and co remind me of english media in the past when they glorified their players in despense of other players and we all knew how that went for the english NT every tournament.

                • Might be because - get this - Kimmich has been a vastly superior midfielder to Thiago this season. Wow, big conspiracy.

                    • Whatever he's eating now, it's good for him. My MOTM against Leverkusen. A key interception and assist leading to our first goal, then a nice finish on the second goal. It's rare to see him being one of the best players on the pitch and the best midfielder but it happened today!

                      • If he keeps playing like this, he should be an essential part of the team. The only logical solution for integrating him as starting XI is to send Kimmich back to RB keep Goretzka and Thiago in midfield and use Muller(or Havertz in case) in the hole. This would solve few problems at once. We wouldn't need another RB. Pavard can go to CB so no extra CB is needed also. We can have a very well balanced team and raise the funds where we really need, namely the wings.

Kimmich is still a better midfielder. I think you guys are letting the goals Goretzka is scoring go over your heads a bit.

                          • There's also a recency bias here. We've seen Goretzka play what, 3 good games all year?

                              3 could be too much

                              • He's in year two at Bayern and has begun to show real growth. That's more than we ever got from Renato Sanches and Tolisso even though the latter had a higher base level when he got here.

For now Goretzka is at least clearly developing in the right direction. His third season will determine whether or not he will be a core piece going forward.
