          • Claudio Pizarro becomes the oldest player ever to score in the Bundesliga, with a 96th-minute equaliser!

              • Let's show some appreciation for Claudio Pizarro, the ageless man who might have just won the entire league for Bayern.

With this goal, Pizarro becomes the oldest goalscorer in Bundesliga history, taking the previous title from...Claudio Pizarro.

                  • And so the day came the "Anden-Bomber" has finally landed for the last time, never to take off for another BuLi season nor improve his impressive goal tally again.

When you consider he started playing football and debuted in BuLi in the previous millenium, his longevity is an amazing feat in itself. There are professional players who retire in their 20s for different reasons... Talented & troubled Sebastian Deisler who has retired at 27 comes to mind (Claudio is 1 year older). In his 327 appearances for Bayern Pizarro had scored 123 goals and assisted 53 times... 197 BuLi goals total, a shame he didn't net even once in his final season, which probably made the retirement decision easy for him.

I was hoping he'll be given a chance to take a final bow in one of Werder playoff games against Heidenheim but the cold hearted (and a few years younger than him lol) Werder coach didn't have the time/mood/or balls to sub him on. They were playing to the empty stadium which no doubt made it even sadder for Claudio.

I'll miss him, even if he was a bigger legend for Werder fans than for us. He had two good spells with us and gave us many great memories. Here are some Anden-Bomber goals to relive them:
