I think Holger played goodish and I respect he is fighting tooth and nail for S04 as he did/would for us, but he's not on a Bayern level.

Still wish him the best and I'm sorry for him and the red card, he really didn't deserve it.
Actually you both misunderstood me, I wasn't talking about Badstuber himself. I was refering Alexis Sanches incident and how people twisted his will to win the game, to reason against his transfer.

He was Schalke's best defender against us in the league. He's an exceptionally talented defender - if he weren't, we would never have stuck with him.

Oh and since he's stll a Bayern player, I'll refer you to your last post in the Schalke DFB Pokal thread and ask you to resist your hatred

            • I miss badasstuber. Injuries are so unbelievably cruel.

Just after he found near WC form, IMO, he was immediately struck down by the football gods.

              Spoiler
Could he be Grey's patient zero with injury curses. Me thinks I'll have to go and search for the evidence...

              • Bads won't return to Bayern and will 'most likely go abroad' after his loan spell at Schalke ends at the end of June.

Contrary to reports in the media claiming otherwsie, the contract between FC Bayern München and 28-year-old defender Holger Badstuber will expire on 30 June 2017.

FC Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge commented: "It was clear from the start that following his loan spell with Schalke 04, Holger Badstuber would seek to gain new experience elsewhere, probably abroad. FC Bayern München wishes Holger Badstuber all the best and thanks him for his exemplary commitment during almost 15 years at Säbener Straße.“
                Full statement from Bayern's website

                Thanks for everything Holger!

Despite all his very unfortunate injuries he never gave up.

It's such a pity as when he was fit he's one of the best in the world when it comes to building up from the back four...

                • A real shame his career was so blighted by injury, eternally grateful for everything he gave for this club

                  • Another one for the "what-ifs". We got to see him playing at a tremendous level, creating an absolutely rock solid combination with Boateng. Gave it all for the club and we repaid in time and patience, it's only fitting that he move on now that he's fit. He wouldn't get playing time here at his current level. And yet, what if he hadn't been injured...

Servus Holger. Thanks for everything and best of luck in the future.

                    • Injuries ruined him. Glad we have Sule as a backup though instead of him going forward.

Even Nastasic proved to be better than him for Schalke!
