In my research, plenty of logical ideas have turned out to be wrong. I will just go along believing that it doesn't really matter (RR vs LL) and I will continue to respect other's views.
I too would be interested in seeing actual statistics rather than just basing my assumptions on untested logical deductions. I do not think, however, that any top club has played two lefties at CB and been successful. Whether this is a result of lefties pairing poorly with each other or the conscious decision to continue perpetuating the taboo, we don't know.

Or possibly even that it is so much rarer to be a left that to have a top club with two top lefties doesn't really happen in the first place so there could be a lack of statistical data (I have not looked this up so I can't verify it. Only another possible theory).

            • A rare occurrence: Badstuber wasn't frowning, but instead was smiling brightly in the photo

                They forced him to smile

Bur more realistically, I really think he was just genuinely happy to be able to run again

                    • Does anyone here with all baise aside feel this boy injury was blessing to our defense in disguised? I really feel he is the weakest link in our team/system, Boateng and Dante should start at all time.

The boy relie heavily on the performance and ability of the other defenders and midfield cover and secondly we don't need too much back playing CB, Dante is enough and Boateng is scoring and making assists.

Good sub never the less, truth hurts.

                      • I had so much faith in him when Van Gaal first introduced him, Alaba, Muller and Contento, however he has proven to be the one with the least potential, at least Contento never got too much playing time. He was given more time than Alaba, Muller and Kroos to intergrate himself into the team as indespensible starter, but however although you can not say he failed however he failed to up his game to Bayern standard, his biggest weakness is his heavy reliance on other players to cover for his lack of pace, area threat, aggression, power, stamina, cover, etc we don't need that in Bayern. His positioning/anticipation is also very, I never understand why every says his positioning is very good.

Anyways Ball playing CB have always been heavily over-rated, just look at Jonny Evans and Pique for example.

When Boateng was given the chance begining of the season he took it very well, when Van buyten had his chance he stepped up and now Boateng has once again stepped up.

Don't go there Miss-Bayern, I had arguments about this many times... Still, if you insist...

                          Spoiler
mavros and I are stating this all along, especially this season after Dante came but Badstuber is a fan favourite and after your post (and this one) you prepare yourself to Badstuber fans rage - we will be called blind because Boateng is a liability, a hater because Badstuber is the new Beckenbauer etc.

I agree with you ofcourse, for me Badstuber is a DM material and not CB, he has great leadership skills, passing abilities and vision but his positioning, player marking and heading abilities are below par.

That's ofcourse IMHO but I really think he is a mediocre CB and as much as I like him he never did excel and his injury probably is a blessing in disguise...

And now the rage can start...

Exactly, spot on regarding playing him as a DM. I don't hate him, I really like him and had so much faith in him, but the truth be told he his a decent CB and nothing more.

I feel he will do a lot better if he his converted back to DM like he used to play for Bayern youth team back in his youth days, maybe he should just replace Tymo as a Dm but then again he does not have that ruggedness to play as a DM, and he his too clumsy to protect the back four, perhaps maybe it's better if he his loaned out.

I agree, not because Badstuber is a bad CB but he's not near the level of Dante. I really don't know what he'll do in the future (loan to HSV?) but as long as Dante is healthy, Badstuber will have to sit on the bench.
