Almost every city player is 50+ mil transfer while before lucas we didnt had a 40mil+ player.

Ok, let's get this straight once and for all.

    Ederson - £35m
    Bravo - £17m
    Bernardo Silva - £43.5m
    Ilkay Gundogan - £20m
    Gabriel Jesus - £27m
    Leroy Sane - £37m
    David Silva - £24m
    Kun Aguero - £35m
    Fernandinho - £34m
    Otamendi - £32m
    Foden - academy product
    Zinchenko - £1.7m
Angelino - £5.35m buyback according to City sources, £12m according to Dutch sources

Let's see which players are £50m+

Stones - £47.5m - English talent, England player from a Premier League club. Obviously will be expensive.
Laporte - £57m - Buy out clause set by Athletic Bilbao, you should know better about them.
Walker - £50m - We were desperate as all our fullbacks had left. We had a verbal agreement with Dani Alves to join us on a free, he signed for PSG at the last minute which changed all negotiations by Daniel Levy, otherwise the deal could've been £10m or more cheaper.
Mendy - Once they saw how much we ended up paying for Walker, they also upped their price to £52m from 40s..
Sterling - initial £44m that could reach £49m - One of the best English talent bought from Liverpool, obviously was going to be expensive.
Kevin De Bruyne - £55m - worth every penny
Riyad Mahrez - £60m - Don't even ask. Premier League tax.
Rodri - £62m - Buyout clause -our most expensive signing to date, we were desperate for a Fernandinho replacement.

We don't make £100m-£200m bids. We can but we don't or we haven't so far. We don't chase big name superstars like Neymar either, that's PSG/United/Real Madrid/Barcelona for you.

Our most expensive signing to date is cheaper than yours. Our wages are also reasonable.

I was talking about euros so most of the players are 50+ mil euros.
The whole starting backline is 50+ mil euros(or very close) even some subs. Ederson,Cancelo,Walker,Stones,Laporte,Mendy plus the subs like otamendi who are more expensive than martinez(the most expensive signing before lucas).
Then your midfield is Rodri,KDB,David Silva(the only cheap guy who at the time wasnt that cheap),Sterling,Bernardo Silva and subs like Sane,Mahrez all expensive as fuck. Then in attack aguero or jesus. Like i said MOST of the players are 50+ mil euros transfers in a short span of time like since Pep is there except some players before that practically a bought team like Pep is playing football manager.
So being proud of not spending huge money on ONE transfer and beinf hypocritical like Pep we dont have money to buy player X is laughable when you spend what 600 700 mil in a short span? Just your two RBs cost 100+ mil ffs walker 50 60 and cancelo 60(danilo 30 mil plus 30 mil).

We use pound sterling as currency and a lot of those numbers (17m-43.5m) are reasonable for England considering the kind of talent we signed. Just look at fees United are paying. That's our competition mate.

Liverpool also paid £37m for Salah, £34m for Mane, £40m for Fabinho, £52.75m for Keita, £75m for Van Dijk, £66.8m for Alisson.. That's the English tax mate, clubs around Europe know we have money so they quote the highest possible price when they see us and we don't have Dortmunds or Hannovers in England, clubs have money and they can compete with you on transfers or make transfers difficult. Leicester wouldn't budge until United paid the £80m for Maguire, they had money and no need to sell. It's easier for you in Germany.

            • Take all this shit about City elsewhere. This is a Leroy Sane transfer thread.

Leroy and Serge have similar hair going on these days.

Bad example, Dortmund are quite strong financially. Just take a look at this current transfer window.

No doubt that the English clubs have bigger economic muscles though.

Whether they grant him that will be seen. Seems we are ok with a salary for him it’s the fee up in the air. And quite frankly I wouldn’t pay a dime more than 125mill for him.

                      • At this stage if it requires Bayern to pay 150 million, Bayern has to pay that amount and buy him...backing out is not an option
