      The release clause is fair!
      I don't value him higher!

Why do German clubs allow such boneheaded release clauses? Surely not good for the teams and league itself. If he becomes really good and a potential future German NT #1, they could sell him for 50m+ easily.

It takes both sides agreement to renew a contract.
If Nubel sugests this release clause, Schalke had to agree or else he would be gone for free next summer.
I'm sure Nubel has a cheap board club in mind to buy him for 10-20milions and would never give 50+ or something.

All in all in 20M Nubel will have to chose among Bayern and 4-5 other teams.
In 50M Bayern won't be among those teams!

I'm aware of that, but I don't see this elsewhere. Obviously in Spain you're required to have buyout clauses so clubs can do nothing about that.

However in England or Italy or even France you rarely see this.

We should do something like chelsea with Courtois sign him and loan him for two years.

When was the last time Bayern did that ?

We simply don't operate like that. We should. But most definitely don't/won't
