                    • I thought that douchebag was a CB.

I believe Robben deserved it more for what he did for Bayern, if only could he score that goal on the final when he was one on one with Casillas, or maybe Sneijder(Inter and Holland) or even Iniesta.

                              • Rummenigge urges Europe's clubs to balance books

European football club union boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge opposes a salary cap but on Tuesday urged the continent's clubs to look after their finances in a better way under stricter rules.

Rummenigge said that stricter financial control through the European governing body UEFA and the learning experience from record losses should turn the tide for the better.

'This is a good opportunity to apply the brakes and to make the world a little more rational,' said Rummenigge, the Bayern Munich chairman and president of the European Club Association at meetings with UEFA at its Swiss headquarters.

Rummenigge said that the number of clubs in the red had been reduced from 70 per cent to 56 per cent in the past two years. But the 733 clubs taken into account also had a record deficit of 1.2 billion euros (1.54 billion dollars) as costs rose to 12.9 million euros compared to income of 11.7 billion euros in 2009.

UEFA has set up a financial fairplay scheme which is to be implemented over the next three years and to reduce the growing debts.

All transfer activities are monitored by UEFA and clubs which do not comply with the regulations face being kept out of European events.

The scheme features a squad cap of 25 players per club but Rummenigge dismissed a salary cap as in several United States sports, saying it would not stand up to European law.

Had the new rules applied last summer, 11 clubs would have denied playing in the Europa and Champions League.

UEFA president Michel Platini said his body does not want 'a witch hunt' but expressed the belief of UEFA 'that a club should not spend more money than it earns.'
