Nah... They're just fans of the NT. Not necessarily nationalistic.

Brazil is weird. It's a very problematic country, and I find it hard to identify with a country that most of its people have completely different cultural influences than me, and that has such a corrupt government that only takes but doesn't give.

I'm sure there are many people like me and Fernando. But there are also a lot of nationalistic people in Brazil, they're just a bit harder to find, I suppose.

I can't help but support the NT. Yes the country is shit, the government is corrupt as fuck, but most players that wear the Canarinho give everything. They play with passion, and on top of that we are fucking five times world champions, with arguably the best players in the history of the game.

I'm quite proud of being a Brazil fan. Hate the country or not, my NT kicks ass!

Brazil sounds a lot like South Africa.

          But we're better anyways.

A country is fucked up by its government, most likely.

Country/nation =\= government/state, one can dislike and hate a government/state, but how can one totally disavow a country/nation of his/her own, I just don't understand.

I have read many German Brazilians in the south openly supported Germany over Brazil.

The most famous German Brazilian though, Gisele Bündchen, supported Brazil all the way and was heartbroken by the defeat in the hands of Germany. I love her for that.

That's very interesting to hear, kailip. May I ask you to elaborate? Do you mean fellow Brazilians of different ethnic and cultural background or something else? Or you find the dominant culture in Brazil a little alien to you?

A lot of people from the south dislike Brazil because they feel more European than South American.
