Is he officially a Bayern player now? Because if so, I really can't deal and need to go sulk some. We traded Toni Kroos for Alonso? I just can't even.

We did not trade him, we had to let him go.
Alonso would not be here if Martinez didn't get that awfull injury.
He is one of us now, time to embrace him.

Don't worry, I won't go all "Koan Alonso" or whatever. We didn't have to let Kroos go. We choose to. Year after World Cup, these kind of injury mishaps always crop up. Additionally, if we had offered him the salary he originally requested instead of waiting until he had turned the rest of the world head, we wouldn't have had to let him go. He said that Bayern was his first choice and it wasn't until he heard about Reals interest that he turned his attention there. That wasn't until the end of the season/start of the World Cup.

I accept that Xabi is our player. Doesn't mean I have to accept that this whole situation couldn't have been avoid. Or that I think we got the short end of this stick.

Pretty good swap I'd say, this guy can actually defend unlike Kroos and in what aspect exactly Kroos is better than him(except age)?

Even Kroos would have stayed, Bayern would still go for Alonso.

Because Kroos can't replace Martinez and Alonso can.

I wish our players would stop dropping like flies. The one thing we can be grateful about regarding Javi's injury, is that it happened while the transfer window was still open. I don't even want to imagine if it had happened like the day after it closed. And my hope with this transfer is maybe, this time, they will finally force Schweini to rest until he is completely, fully recovered. And Alonso retired from the Spain NT, right? So no worries about him overextending himself.

Kroos nearly cost Germany the world cup with his stupid backward header vs Argentina. & He did nothing against RM in the semi final last season.

I`m not defending Kroos but he had a pretty good World Cup(except for the moment you mentioned) +, the tactics are to blame for the loss vs Real

Some players saves the coach' ass when he makes some shitty tactics, Kroos ( with Bayern ) is not a one of them.

Not taking anything from Kroos, but there is no one to blame for his departure, SCT was saying that Bayern could have kept him if they have offered him the new contract earlier !!

I remember that there was a news about it when Kroos got injured in 2013, that he wanted to wait or something !! even if that wasn't correct, and even that Kroos has accepted new contract, if he wanted to leave, no one can stop him. Maybe then Bayern could have got more money, but nothing more from Kroos.

Suits him pretty well I suppose

Strange how Bayern haven't confirmed the transfer yet. Perhaps they're waiting until after the press conference.

I certainly didn't expect to get the official announcement from Madrid, but I guess it'll do.

(I can totally see him speaking German in a matter of weeks)
