I agree, I really liked Rudy. I wanted to see Kroos - Goretzka, and was a little annoyed when I saw Rudy in there.

But to be honest his defensive stability (at least in the game against Sweden) was really nice, and allowed Kroos to push up further. It almost felt like a 4-1-4-1 tbh, and it was working pretty well. Despite that shitty pass from Kroos, from what I recall there wasn't too many worries. It was once Gundogan came on that Sweden really started breaking through.

Had Kroos not score,he could have had a nightmare for life.

He partly caused injury to Rudy and caused the first concession.
