It's not surprising he went where he did especially if he was on vacation in the states already.
Liverpool owners are Fenway sports, they also own the Boston Red Sox. So no surprise he got tested in Boston while on vacation.

I mean, it only comes off as excuse because newspapers were poking the hospital for any news, and since British tabloids love to spread fake news (look at Sterling), Karius did the right thing in letting the doctors talk.

Yeah I agree with you, it's not as whacky as people are acting. Anytime you have a horror performance like that and come out with an "excuse" it will look as such unfortunately. It's a serious hospital too, its not like he went somewhere random.

It comes off as an excuse because it took over a week for it to come out. You don't need to go to the US for a concussion diagnosis, it could have been diagnosed a day or two after as well as immediately.

I don't really disagree, but to perhaps add some complexity:

The US is actually the leading nation in sport-induced head injuries, owing in no small part to American Football. So not only do athletes around the world come to the US for sports medicine generally, many come specifically for head injuries. So if an athlete wants the most cutting-edge expertise on their concussion, the US is the place to go. On a similar note, our enormous snow sports culture (particularly in CO, where most of the best mountains are) has lead to a national specialty in knee injuries. It's actually very common for European athletes to go to Vail for treatment. I believe our own Javi Martinez went there after his ACL tear.

In other words, people that don't know what they're talking about are trying to discredit the statement of people that do know what they're talking about because "but muh excuses".

I mean, maybe he had a diagnosis after the game and went to Boston to confirm it while having a vacation.

Exactly. Concussions don't leave visible scars, and people like Fernando just need that visual confirmation, which is stupid.

Dude, wtf. These doctors wouldn't sell their reputation for a few million, if they did the NFL would've bought them years ago.

Everyone has a price.

Let's agree to disagree.

You continue to think is true and he made a boo-boo in the CL final and I continue to think he's full of shit and want to prevent he plays for 1859+1 (or another shitty ass 3rd division club) for the rest of his life

You just don't get it how absurd is your thinking, the NFL, a billionaire's league, couldn't pay these doctors to side with them, but a 'mere' millionaire like Karius can? I will never agree to disagree on this, because at what point we draw the line?
If you think these mistakes would cost him his career you are bloody mistaken, maybe at Liverpool, but on a TOP 4 league? No way.

No, not everyone has a price to sell their beliefs and ethics. And even if they have one, i doubt it would be for 'mere' single digit millions. I mean, Karius salary is just 1 million per year.

According to a famous news outlet in Brazil, UEFA abolished the playoff draws before each playoff and teams will know their possible opponents until the final up from the R16, similar to the WC.

https://esporte.uol.com.br/futebol/c...-mata-mata.htm

Didn't find any of this anywhere else though, so don't know how reliable this is
