I beg to defer here, bro.

This is exactly the man I had in mind when I said that before Banks no one was goalkeeping. Untill then the keeper was just another player that could also use his hands.
Banks brought a new perspective to goalkeeping.
He had great skills at receiving the ball, organizing his defence, starting his team attack and the most important thing playing further away from his posts.

I don't want to show disrespect to Lev.
It's just that during his time goalkeepig hadn't evolved yet. He was just another man between the sticks.

All this of course is my personal humble opinion. I just wanted to show you that I was quite aware of this man's existence when speaking those words about Banks.

Fair enough, but lets not forget that Yashin as a GK is still known for being one of very best(if not the best) in goalkeeping football history. May I say that Yashin won the Best GK of the century, ahead of Banks, Zoff and Maier.
Sorry if Im choosing the right words to express what Im tryin to say.

You don't need to be sorry, bro.

Actually this opinion of yours it's the world wide most popular.
It's just that I never go with the flow.
I've learned to form my own opinion in any matter, esp. those that I'm quite aware of.

Lev had enormous potential at savings compared to the other goalkeepers of his era.
But as I've said before, goalkeeping is not only the saves and Banks was the 1st to teach this.

His contribution at keeper's position progress couldn't be well estimated those years.
But now that we know were we stand we can recognise his value!

But enough said, I'm not used at praising so much a British guy

edit: sorry Wavy. I didn't see your post.
End of discussion

Ok I just moved these posts over here. I really understand that one post leads to another thus creating a discussion, but it's a really annoying process to move these posts, so I'd ask you to please move the discussions in the appropriate thread.

Thanx in advance.

It wasn't Gyula Grosics who started these trends?

The Adidas factory in Germany sent Gareth Bale's new set of boots to the Real Madrid training complex this morning, instead of Spurs.

This transfer saga is getting ridiculous now..Not only is he showing complete lack of respect but Madrid are getting annoying too. The way they do their transfers at times is laughable. There is some inferiority complex or something that they should keep telling themselves that they are the best club in the world. Pathetic!

Good God, it's finally coming to an end. They should announce him after Spurs announce Eriksen has joined them. The most boring and ridiculous transfer saga is finally coming to an end!

Tottenham has spent those 100M in signings already. If I were the president of Madrid, I'd tell him "you know what? I don't really want him. 50M or nothing" and then put on the biggest trollface ever.
