That's called a 4-3-3, you'll find it among the most common formations in the game.

Jupp's 2013 treble team was a hybrid 4-2-3-1/4-3-3. IT was a 4-2-3-1 on paper but played much more like a 4-3-3 on the field. I'm not a fan of other 4-3-3s we've seen (Pep/Carlo), but Heynckes has a proven track record with it.

Yeah, it's more about how they players are utilised in the said (or any) formation. Jupp's tactics worked and still seem to work pretty much perfectly, yet Pep's and especially Carlo's didn't. In a 4-3-3, a lot depends on the lowest midfielder, the anchor so to say. Jupp is the only of the three who has used Javi in that position. Could easily be the biggest mistake both Pep and Carlo made, not using Javi as CDM that is.

Well, 4-1-2-3/4-3-3/ but it seems really good.
