His supporting cast is also much better.

Imagine having Cristiano, Modric, Marcelo, Carvajal, Kroos(lol y'all gonna hate me ) and even Bale contributing.

2015 and 2016 his supporting cast was nearly as good and he underperformed

Tabloids make up stuff all the time. Agents say things all the time too. Tabloids want to sell more, agents look after their client's interests. Simple as that. Whether or not the quote is true, it doesn't make Lewy unprofessional, but on the contrary, it shows just how professional he is.

You mean Benz surely, not Lewa? Cause in the latter's case, he bagged a crucial goal against Juve at home which allowed us to bounce back, then scored in the semifinal against Atletico managing to keep the game alive.
If choking for you means scoring against top quality opponents like Juve or Atletico in crucial stages of the CL campaign, I only wish our other players choked as well as Lewa.

Too bad back then in 2015/16 not all of his "supporting cast" were on the same page, otherwise we would play in the final. The ineffective Ribery, clueless Costa, TM missing the crucial penalty in that second game vs Atleti, maybe Pep's tactics (especially in the away games) - all those would be the incomparably stronger candidates for scapegoats if you weren't so fixated on Lewa.

It's like you're living in some alternate reality and are watching games completely different from those the others are watching

You can easily discredit Messi, Cristiano, Raul etc. with the same reasoning.

Benzema scoring 50 goals in 90 games for Real Madrid as the 2nd or 3rd fiddle in majority of his career is extremely impressive. And he hasn't even taken penalties or free-kicks to inflate his goal-tally.

Never mind that Benzema was already proven to be great in Champions League with Lyon (12 goals in 19 games) without having nowhere near as good of a supporting cast at Real Madrid.

Benzema is arguably a top 3 contributor for Real Madrid's CL-success between 13/14-17-18 where he scored 25 goals in 50 games.

What's that got to do with my point of Lewandowski being a superior striker? I didn't say Benzema was trash.

Lewandowski I think would score a lot of goals for Real Madrid too with the team they had. At Bayern he's had a good defence and midfield, but the attack have been lackluster and half the time the team is falling apart due to injuries.

I would put Lewandowski, Aguero, Firmino, Mbappe, Harry Kane ahead of Benzema.

Cristiano too obviously if you want to count him as a striker.

You could argue him playing as a second or third fiddle is the reason a lot of those chances fall his way as the other team is often focused on containing the other two stars most of the time. Especially someone like CR whose movement is World Class and pulls a lot of defenders out of position.

Voiced we need new players in attack and haven’t spent there in 2 years.

Big thing with these guys being for starters smarter than the people controlling the team is that if they don’t see us trying to compete they will leave. I don’t think our bosses know it think that. They might be ok with winning a double. But the players aren’t. They want to win the CL. Kimmich voices similar statement as well

I really would have gotten Piatek...

Young, still affordable.
Is polish, thus those two would fire up each other in their own language and prestige...
We really need to stop being AC Milan when it comes to old players.

Affordable? Not for our board I think If Milan paid Genoa 35,00 mln € for the guy then now any club that possibly wants him would probably have to bid in the region at least 60-70 mln just to get Milan's attention. It would be suicidal for them to let him go anyway, as they aim for Champions League spot next season and without Piatek in their squad that would be impossible dream, so yeah any club would have to pay through the roof for him.

I agree with the rest of your post re: Piatek though, would love us to sign him or someone like him, a guy who is already a very good striker but can still develop into even better one. No fading stars like Benzema, Manzu or Higuain please.

Arp is a great prospect but still so young, it's hard to expect from him to lift up the team on his own or light the stadium up.

Lewy has never been a good team-mate, let alone opponent.
