Is he officially a Bayern player now? Because if so, I really can't deal and need to go sulk some. We traded Toni Kroos for Alonso? I just can't even.

We did not trade him, we had to let him go.
Alonso would not be here if Martinez didn't get that awfull injury.
He is one of us now, time to embrace him.

Don't worry, I won't go all "Koan Alonso" or whatever. We didn't have to let Kroos go. We choose to. Year after World Cup, these kind of injury mishaps always crop up. Additionally, if we had offered him the salary he originally requested instead of waiting until he had turned the rest of the world head, we wouldn't have had to let him go. He said that Bayern was his first choice and it wasn't until he heard about Reals interest that he turned his attention there. That wasn't until the end of the season/start of the World Cup.

I accept that Xabi is our player. Doesn't mean I have to accept that this whole situation couldn't have been avoid. Or that I think we got the short end of this stick.

Strange how Bayern haven't confirmed the transfer yet. Perhaps they're waiting until after the press conference.

I certainly didn't expect to get the official announcement from Madrid, but I guess it'll do.

Oh FFS enough with the Kroos already... I'm happier we sold him than I would be with handing him to them on a silver platter next year.

Like with every other player, Bayern Board would convince him to stay if there was a chance... He wasn't Bayern in his heart, probably never was, get that into your thick skulls already! He worships Real Madrid, probably for forever, it's clearly the case that shows in his every statement that he gives, in his every move on the field. I'm sad because of it.

I acknowledged Kroos as a great midfielder, as a dream playmaker although I didn't like his stile very much, his slowness and his defensive flaws. But miracle happened, he is instantly better at Real Madrid, it's obvious, so it's obvious he didn't gave his all with Bayern. I very much dislike him for that.

He's gone, I was afraid he will be terribly missed, I still am cause Thiago & Schweini are still out while Pierre & Gianluca are still too young to be depended on. So we were left on Rode & Alaba & Lahm. Lahm, amazing as he is on any position, is more needed on RB, I don't look on Rafinha as a top class R(W)B. Alaba should stay on LB for his and FCB's sake even though Bernat showed glimpses of a good L(W)B and some potential. So we re only dependant on Rode. As much as I believe in him more than any other such prospect like Kirchoff, Baumjohann, Sosa or our own ones like Ottl, Ekici, Can etc., he is still too young and too unproven on highest level to be so much dependant on.

As we also said, we didn't needed someone established that has more than 2 years in him like Khedira (although I also wanted him) but someone that won't complain being benched while can play in CL without fearing that he can't take it.

So as much I would like it wasn't another Spaniard, if it is - I'm happy it is Xabi Alonso, the perfect man for the job and a true professional.

Well done Bayern Board, welcome Xabi.

I think he'll take number 22 as he had it in Madrid.

Don't really like this transfer, but I hope Alonso proves to be a worthy acquisition. I have my doubts though.
